He is a footballer that knows how to dress. Of course Jamie quit football a few years ago but now as a pundit for sky sports he remains heavily involved in the game as well as building a television profile for his part as team captain in James Corden’s a league of their own quiz.

Mr Redknapp’s fashion sense has been on my radar for a while now and what I love about his look and his sense of style is it’s uniformed out of his own capsule. I’m going to explain this by analysing his formal and dress down looks and why it’s so effective. As a budding fashionista I am constantly looking through magazines and watching endless television for research in to what the guys in the spotlight are wearing and being dressed in. For the last few years tuning into sky’s football coverage hasn’t always been about what game’ s on but what attire Mr Redknapp’s wearing. His formal look is simple but ever so effective as he brings high fashion tailored looks into his own capsule uniform. &lt;strong&gt;His suits that are tailored to perfection are rotated between a black, navy and light grey sharkskin.&lt;/strong&gt;

For his sky sports uniform he normally pairs with a crisp white shirt with a simple medium spread collar and to finish it’s again a rotation between a slim tie or a knitted version. Again the colour pallet for his ties doesn’t go out from black or navy with the odd white spot thrown in. I love the concept of what his formal uniform is about and one of my favourite looks of his that I like is when he puts together his light grey sharkskin suit with a similar light grey shirt and black slim tie. Tonal brilliance!

Another small detail that sticks out is you very rarely see Redknapp with a belt which I suppose is the perk of having tailored trousers but for me gives his formal uniform look a clean cut, minimal feel as well as never having a handkerchief or an adding touch from a choice of &lt;a title="pocket squares" href="http://www.brighterman.com/pocket-squares/cat_185.html"&gt;pocket squares&lt;/a&gt;. Less is more??? For formal engagements and events out side of his punditry it does seem that he is willing to add some minor adjustments for example a three piece suit, white pocket square or a burgundy tie while still keeping true to his ethos.

Where Redknapp is pretty militant with his formal uniform he allows himself a bit more freedom when it comes to dressing down though he still sticks to a similar colour pallet. His dress down looks are made up from tailored jackets with black or white t shirt’s , denim and designer trainers from the likes of Balenciaga and Lanvin. Also in the mix are open collared shirts and knitwear.

For me Mr Redknapp is under recognised for his work by the fashion press! Ok some might say he has money at his disposal to spend on the best designers the world of &lt;a title="men's fashion" href="http://www.mensfashionmagazine.co.uk"&gt;men’s fashion&lt;/a&gt; has to offer, but surely he deserves credit for the way he has created with influences his own capsule of looks which are consistent and individual.

&lt;p&gt;From the Bride… &lt;em&gt;The most important aspect in planning our wedding was for everyone to have fun and feel comfortable. While we did not choose a specific theme or color palette for our wedding, many of the elements were centered around comfort — for dinner, our talented caterer Katie Powers prepared a menu of chicken pot pie and mac ‘n’ cheese, served family-style on long tables. For dessert, we opted to go for the ultimate comfort food, donuts. The floral design was warm and playful, rather than grand or formal, and we asked for interesting and unique arrangements versus matching ones. The lanterns were made by hand-painting unique designs on opaque paper that surrounded each candle, marking the table number. Something that really gave us peace of mind was absolute trust in all of the key players who made the day come together. Svenja Brotz, Andi Hatch, Katie Powers and Rebecca Pfiffner were consummate professionals as well as artists, and we were really able to enjoy the day and revel in their work.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Another important part of our wedding day was giving it a personal touch. We knew early on that we wanted the groom’s nieces to be part of the ceremony, and we had seen photos of one of them wearing a Lady Gaga-inspired costume for last year’s Halloween.  When one niece independently volunteered to wear a costume to the ceremony, we thought it would be so much fun if all four of our “flower children” picked something unusual to wear!  Instead of a first dance, we played a Schubert love song transcribed for cello and piano because we first met through playing music together. From the Bride… Jon and I met while studying at the University of Washington in Seattle and relocated to the Bay Area together in 2009. Even though our guest list would span seven countries, including Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, France and the UK, we wanted to have our wedding in the Bay Area, our first home together as a married couple. We wanted our wedding would be a multicultural affair that would pay homage to my Chinese/Australian roots and Jon’s midwestern upbringing, a wonderful Northern California experience for our guests, and elegant but casual with a touch of whimsy (Who wants to fly 16 hours just to be buttoned up all day?). The true challenge was bringing all of these elements together in a stylish and cohesive event. It’s Chinese tradition for the parents of the bride and groom to gift the bride with gold bangles on her wedding day as a sign of prosperity and good fortune. To combine this with the “something old” tradition, I wore the white gold bangles my dad’s parents gave to my mom on her wedding day. Instead of wearing one of each wrist in the traditional manner, I wore both on one arm to modernize the look. For my “something borrowed” I wore my mother’s pearl and diamond pendant. For the reception and tea ceremony, I changed into a custom-made, gold Chinese “cheong sam.” Traditionally, a bridal cheong sam is red, but I designed it in gold and cream to modernize the look and keep with the overall feel of the wedding. The dress was tailor made by Lingling Chinese Dress in SF, but I purchased the gold lace overlay and silk in Hong Kong a few months earlier. Before shipping it to California, my auntie and uncle brought the fabric to their factory in China and hand-sewed delicate pearls onto the petals of the lace flowers – it was heavy! I also changed into the solid yellow gold bangles my mother’s parents gave to her on her wedding day. It was an honor to be able to wear both pairs. We greeted our guests with iced tea and lemonade as they arrived for the ceremony. Instead of a guest book, we asked our guests to sign next to their home cities on a large world map. The map is now framed in our living room and reminds us of everyone who came to celebrate from around the world! Church Street Flowers created an “altar” with two gorgeous arrangements and floated peonies in the fountain. My mom created five beautiful flower pomanders that we hung prominently from the trellis so we would pass underneath them on the way to the altar. It was important that our wedding ceremony symbolize the coming together of two life partners and include our dads AND moms who raised us equally. Both Jon and I – first he then I – were escorted down the aisle by both our parents to Journey’s “Faithfully.” We met at the end of the aisle as two equals ready to enter into a new life stage. The Chinese wedding tea ceremony is when the bride and groom pour tea for their parents and elders as a sign of respect. Customarily, it takes place in private the morning of the wedding at the groom’s parents’ and bride’s parents’ homes. However, we wanted to incorporate it into the reception so our guests could also experience this amazing tradition. We used the very same tea set my parents used on their wedding day – my mom hand-carried it over from Australia. She was able to keep it intact all these years after moving from country to country, and I hope I’ll be able to give it to my daughter one day! We poured tea for my family and Jon’s family as a way to blend our cultures. As gifts, they gave us words of advice, as well “red packets” of money and jewelry. After the tea ceremony, we commenced with western traditions, including the bouquet toss and dancing. We also had an amazing and fun photo booth provided by our photographer, Tim Sohn, which our guests really enjoyed! Our wedding was personal, meaningful, blended our cultures and gave our guests a taste of our new Northern California home. But you come in here and it’s relaxed, there’s no pressure on people and there’s no pushy sales techniques. We design the rings , but you can add your personal stamp if you want. What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made in business? On day one, I should have set up with a website so it was geared up with search engine optimisation. I didn’t do that. So for the first two years I would have been on the third page of search results when you Googled engagement rings. Nobody goes to page three; very few people go beyond the first three or four on page one. About a year and half ago, I redesigned the website and made it SEO optimised. Now I’m at the top of page one. All of a sudden my business jumped. But if I had been at the top of page one from the beginning, I might have struggled to deal with all the business. What has been your major success to date? Still being in business four years later. Since I set up the business a lot of jewellery shops have closed. I opened a London office four or five months ago. I was finding through Google analytics that my business was getting a lot of hits in London. A lot of people are leaving Ireland now – people in the engagement ring phase of their life tend to be moving to London. The younger ones are off to Canada and Australia. Sales in London are starting to grow. The recession suits me perfectly; more and more people are looking for value for money now. I set up in late 2007. All my friends thought I was nuts, but at the time I didn’t know the recession was about to come. Right at the very start I managed to get great write-ups on the likes of Boards.ie and Weddings Online . The online forums are huge for me business, as is Facebook. My competitors haven’t copped on to that. Half of them don’t have a Facebook page, or if they do I haven’t seen it. There are around 18,000 fans of Voltaire on Facebook. With a jewellery shop, they rely on people walking past and calling in. I don’t have that. Reputation is everything. You still get people saying they’re off to Antwerp or New York to buy engagement rings, but I guarantee to beat those prices. You are sitting in New York and Antwerp here. The international price of diamonds is the price – there is no difference. We’re all buying at very similar prices. People think they can get better deals abroad, but they can’t. Who would you admire most in business and why? It’s probably Michael O’Leary for his no-nonsense approach. What piece of advice would you give to the Government to stimulate the economy? Try to reduce VAT rates for labour intensive businesses. I know they’ve done it for the tourism industry, but maybe there are other industries out there they could do it for. What would you say has been your biggest challenge? Initially when I set up the business, it was getting suppliers to actually take me seriously. I visited wholesale suppliers in Antwerp and London. Without a website, without the qualification from the GIA , no one took me seriously. I studied gemology with the GIA in London to get that level of credibility. The diamond business is all about trust. At the start everything was prepaid, now it’s all about credit. If I let down one supplier, it’s a very close-knit community – they all know each other. Just about anything that has a motor and wheels is represented at Goodwood and not only can you get up close and personal with supercars, the latest concepts and legendary racers both past and present, you can also see them in action on Goodwood’s famous 1.16 mile hillclimb. This year a record 185,000+ people made the trek to the south of England to see, hear, and drool over the 300+ vehicles on display, and there was plenty to whet the appetite. McLaren 12C GT3 race car flies British flag McLaren made a big statement on the Goodwood hill over the weekend. Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button took a production prototype version of the 2013 McLaren MP4-12C for a spin Saturday in the world debut of the freshly upgraded supercar. To top it off, the appearance of a unique ‘GREAT’ 12C GT3 complete with Union Jack livery left crowds with no doubt as to which part of the world they were in. F-TYPE Jaguar public debut A prototype of Jaguar’s new F-TYPE sports car made its public debut at Goodwood with the company’s Head of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross at the wheel. The all-aluminum F-TYPE is set to hit showrooms in mid-2013 in supercharged V6 or V8 engine variants. Six-wheeled F1 cars together for the first time Not only is the Tyrrell P34 among the most memorable designs in the history of motorsport, it was also competitive, taking part in the 1976-77 Formula One championships and winning the Swedish Grand Prix. The P34 has appeared at Goodwood before, but this year in a world first it was shown alongside two other six-wheelers - the Williams FW08B and March 2-4-0 - for the first time ever. Featuring four rear wheels, both the FW08B and March 2-4-0 were experimental and never took part in F1 racing before rule changes banned the use of six-wheelers in 1983. Definitely a drawcard for motoring aficionados. The most powerful Mustang ever In a tribute to the late Carroll Shelby , Ford’s most powerful Mustang ever - the Ford Shelby GT500 - made its first appearance outside the US at Goodwood 2012, taking on the hillclimb with its 662 horsepower 5.8-litre supercharged V8 engine. UK debut for Ferrari 458 Spider and California 30 The “Supercar run” is at the core of what Goodwood has to offer. This year around 60 of the world’s fastest and most formidable automobiles strutted their stuff on the hillclimb … and it wouldn’t be a supercar run without Ferrari. The Italian marque offered two UK debuts this year - the two-seater 458 Spider and the Ferrari California 30 - as well as giving the V12 Ferrari FF flagship and some classic from the 60’s and 70’s an outing in the English countryside. Nissan LEAF’s reverse record Traveling at an average of 55 mph over a mile (1.6km) doesn’t sound like much of a record … until you realize that the car in question is going backwards. Driven by professional stunt driver Terry Grant, the Nissan LEAF claimed this record on Friday and broke it five times in subsequent runs over the weekend. Not surprisingly, Grant complained of a “slight neck ache” after achieving the feat. Lotus honored as featured marque Lotus was given pride of place at this year’s festival of speed with a huge collection of cars taking to the track and an extensive exhibition showcasing the racing innovations pioneered by the company and its founder Colin Chapman. Aston Martin Vantage GTE It wasn’t all F1 racers and supercars at this year’s FOS - the 4.5-litre V8 Aston Martin Vantage GTE, which finished third at the 24 Hour of Le Mans this year, was also amongst the action with works driver Stefan Mücke at the wheel. Porsche 918 Spyder concept It’s almost impossible to pick a favorite among the host of beautiful automobiles on show at Goodwood… but this one comes very close to the top of our list. The Porsche 918 Spyder concept was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Show, but UK fans were treated to the first public showing at Goodwood on the weekend. Stunning looks, a hybrid drivetrain that produces a total of 770 hp and fuel consumption of just 3 liters per 100 km (94 mpg) - need we say more. And there’s more … lots more. Try Renting One First&lt;/a&gt;: &lt;p&gt;When hybrids like the Toyota Prius became commonplace earlier this century, they generated a lot of buzz. And so, Enterprise Holdings added hybrids to its fleets at Alamo, Enterprise, and National rental car outlets. Unfortunately, no one wanted to rent them. According to an article in the New York Times , Enterprise had to launch a major customer-education initiative, explaining how hybrids work and assuaging any range anxiety. Now, Enterprise has gone a step further, adding 350 Nissan Leaf electric cars to its fleet. And once again, those high-tech cars are sitting idle on the lots. This time around, though, Enterprise isn’t just educating consumers, it’s also reconfiguring its distribution network. Specifically, the company has placed the cars in 20 markets that are home to the ” urban eco-curious” (i.e. typically Gen X and Millennial drivers interested in greener transportation). The list seems to include cities like Austin, New York, and Phoenix, though we’d guess that Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle are on it, too. Enterprise is also launching a 24/7 help line to answer questions from drivers. And this fall, it will roll out a new campaign called ” Driving Futures ” to offer additional education and enticement to clients. What’s the problem with Enterprise? What’s curious about Enterprise’s dilemma is that other companies don’t seem to have a problem renting EVs. Registrations for electric cars at Car2Go were through the roof earlier this year, and although Hertz has a much smaller electric fleet than Enterprise, it says that it could easily handle as many as 3,000 electric cars if it could get them. So why is Enterprise lagging? Could it be due to a flawed roll out? Iffy education efforts? Or did Hertz and Car2Go simply manage their EV fleets better?
